This powerful yoga retreat will be held over three days and two nights at Vartamana Retreat in the spectacular Waitakere Ranges, a 30 minute drive from Auckland City.

We will be diving deep to discover inner strength and we will awaken spirit to experience the bliss of one’s true self, through intelligent movement and sequencing of yoga postures, pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation and Reiki healing sessions.

This retreat aims to bring complete harmony to body, mind and spirit by creating more love and joy from within.

Transformational Yoga Retreat includes:

  • 2 nights twin-share accommodation at Vartamana Retreat (either two singles or one king bed)
  • Delicious organic vegetarian breakfasts, lunches and dinners and unlimited herbal teas and filtered water will be available throughout the day (people with dietary requirements such as gluten and dairy free can be catered for)
  • All yoga classes, including Slow Flow, Yoga Nidra, Vinyasa Flow, Ashtanga Flow and Yin
  • Morning meditation and pranayama
  • A 60 minute private Reiki healing treatment
  • Unlimited use of the infrared sauna, spa and salt water swimming pool

Friday- Day 1

3pm arrivals, settle in (people working a full day on Friday are welcome to arrive later in the evening)

4pm welcome, introductions and intention setting

4.30pm- 6pm slow flow

6pm-7pm dinner

7pm-8pm Reiki healing session or free time to use the spa, sauna or salt water pool

8.30pm-9.30pm candlelight yoga nidra

Saturday- Day 2

7am-9am meditation, pranayama and vinyasa flow

9am-10am breakfast

10am-11am Reiki healing session or free time to use the spa, sauna or salt water pool

1pm-2pm lunch

2pm-3pm Reiki healing session or free time to use the spa, sauna or salt water pool

3.30pm-5pm Yin yoga

6pm-7pm dinner

7pm-8pm Reiki healing session or free time to use the spa, sauna or salt water pool

8pm-9pm candlelight yoga nidra

9pm-10pm enlightening movie (optional)

Sunday- Day 3

7am-9pm meditation, pranayama and vinyasa flow

9am-10am breakfast

10am-11am Reiki healing session or free time to use the spa, sauna or salt water pool

11.30am-1pm Ashtanga flow

1pm-2pm lunch

2pm-3pm Reiki healing session or free time to use the spa, sauna or salt water pool

3.30pm-5pm Yin yoga

5pm closing circle

5.30 pm depart

Booking and cancellation policy:

To book, use the contact form below, provide your name, phone number and email and I will send you a welcome email and a handy list of items that you will need to bring.

  • A 50% or $225 NZD deposit is required to secure your place on the retreat.
  • Payment can be deposited into my Kiwibank account: T McDonald 38-9000-0626696-00 using your full name as a reference.
  • The remaining 50% can be paid in cash on the day of arrival.

Deposits will be refunded in full if cancellations are made before the advertised date. Deposits will not be refunded if cancellations are made after this date.

A message from the facilitator:

Having recently returned from teaching at two yoga teacher training schools in India, I am delighted to announce my first retreat of 2017, which will be held at Vartamana Retreat in the beautiful Waitakere Ranges in Auckland, New Zealand.

I was introduced to yoga at the young age of 4, when my parents became Sannyasins. Being immersed in meditation and mindfulness practices at such a young age has given me a life long opportunity to put these modalities into practice.

I not only teach yoga, I’m dedicated to living a yoga lifestyle as I believe that in order to teach from an authentic place, one must teach from experience because ultimately a good yoga teacher is one that practices and lives by what they teach others. 12048908_10153647467380883_499398378_n

I am passionate about teaching the true essence of yoga, which is fast becoming lost amongst a largely commercial driven society and I like to subtly weave yoga philosophy and spirituality  into my classes, which are a fusion of what I have learnt from all of my Indian and Nepalese teachers.

I see yoga as a tool to guide others to find space and deep connection within themselves, to recognize the truth of who they really are; perfect, whole and complete beings of the divine (universe/god/consciousness)

I am a 200hr + 100hr Yoga Alliance (certified in India) Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow Yoga teacher and I am also a certified Advanced Reiki Practitioner at the Master level with 11 years Reiki experience.

I have taught yoga in Nepal, India, Australia and New Zealand to people from all different backgrounds and with different body types, ages and yoga abilities.

My yoga journey has been featured in NZ Yoga Scene Magazine and I have had the pleasure of writing a yoga article for Elephant Journal.

I’m beyond excited to be holding a retreat in my birth country of New Zealand and I look forward to connecting and sharing all that I have learnt with you and being a part of your journey!
